Benefits
Enjoy exclusive three day access to one of the UK’s finest wedding venues
Crockwell Farm was one of the first venues in the UK to host luxury barn weddings. In 1998, the Harper Family began converting the stone farm buildings to create the Crockwell Farm we know today. Since then, our venue has hosted dozens of wedding ceremonies and receptions. Today, it is widely renowned for its iconic architecture, picturesque surroundings and extensive facilities.
To ensure that our clients have an outstanding experience, Crockwell Farm has undergone various renovations throughout the years, most notably in the spring of 2020. In addition to our vaulted barn, oak-glazed entrance hall and internal marquees that provide stunning views of Northamptonshire’s idyllic countryside, our venue now features a luxury marquee space and a rustic bar with a greatly enhanced look and ambience.
As one of the best wedding venues in the UK, we want our clients and their guests to feel “at home”. This is why we strive to ensure that they can fully experience our brand of hospitality, starting with our guest accommodation. We can accommodate up to 28 guests in our nine farm cottages, all with en-suite bathrooms. They are ideal for couples looking for a homely and cosy place to rest and relax after an exhausting day of wedding preparations and celebrations.
Crockwell can offer a wide range of options for ceremonies and receptions. We have both indoor and outdoor venues, including our Orchard Pavilion and the well-manicured gardens that owner Hermione personally and lovingly cares for. No matter what your preferences, you can expect a first-rate wedding service and a venue like no other.
And the best part of hosting your wedding at Crockwell Farm is that all of our facilities and amenities are yours to use exclusively for three days.

Beautiful Barns in Picturesque Surroundings
Why Plan a Country Wedding at Crockwell?
If you and your partner are looking for an alternative to a run-of-the-mill wedding ceremony and reception, it may be worth considering a countryside or barn wedding. For a start, you will have greater flexibility compared to a traditional location. Furthermore, this type of venue is ideal for couples who would like a non-religious ceremony but are loathe to celebrate their union in a registry office. Converted barns certainly evoke a “chapel-like” appeal with their high-beamed ceilings and rustic vibe. They also have the advantage of being naturally beautiful and easy to decorate. Finally, barn and rural weddings are quite simply breathtaking. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, your ceremony and reception will be truly magical!
At Crockwell Farm, we can offer an idyllic and intimate setting for all types of weddings. We have recently improved our services and facilities to provide bespoke solutions to our clients, ensuring their enjoyment and comfort no matter how many guests they have invited.
Let’s take a closer look at Crockwell and discover why it is one of the best wedding venues for couples planning a unique and exclusive celebration.
Permanent Unique and Dry
The Vaulted Barn
Built in the 1700s, the stone Vaulted Barn is truly a historic wedding venue. It is one of the original buildings from when Crockwell was still a working farm. Restored by the Harpers in the early 2000s, the barn has hosted a number of small weddings and parties.
With its intimate and romantic ambience, the Vaulted Barn is undoubtedly a favourite barn venue for many of our clients. It can seat up to 86 people, making it the ideal wedding venue for small to medium-sized ceremonies. Besides a few church candles and flowers, which we can quickly arrange before the ceremony, the stone Vaulted Barn needs very little to no decoration.

The Starlit Marquee
With its high ceilings and expansive windows, the Starlit Marquee offers guests panoramic views of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. Large hanging hoops with foliage and a fairy-light canopy also feature prominently in the wedding venue, making it both festive and inviting.
If you have invited a large number of guests, the Starlit Marquee will be the perfect wedding venue. With a capacity of up to 200 people, it provides enough space for the day’s celebrations and activities, including the much-anticipated wedding feast. Furthermore, the Marquee is accessible from 2:00pm the day before the wedding, giving you ample time to decorate and make the venue uniquely yours.
Similar to the Saddle Room Bar, the Starlit Marquee has undergone recent renovations. It now features underfloor heating and neutral yet classic flooring, ensuring you and your guests’ comfort and enjoyment during the wedding reception no matter what the season. And thanks to the Marquee’s adjoining secret dance floor, you can dance the day or night away as there’s no need to move the furniture around to make room.
As one of the UK’s best wedding venues, we at Crockwell Farm prioritise your comfort and convenience. This is why there’s no need to worry about bringing chairs, cutlery, glassware and crockery to the Starlit Marquee for the wedding reception. We will happily provide everything for you. We will also handle all the other decorative materials so you don’t have to. As mentioned earlier, you can leave the smallest details to us so you can focus on what is important to you.

The gardens and grounds
While our indoor venues are renowned for their rustic charm and beauty, our outdoor settings are also in a league of their own. Surrounded by Northamptonshire’s verdant rolling hills and idyllic scenes of nature, Crockwell Farm is certainly an enchanting location for outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
Our unique venue is situated in the heart of a privately owned 400-acre farm and picturesque gardens feature prominently on the estate. Owner Hermione personally and painstakingly plans and maintains the gardens to ensure they are always picture-ready regardless of the time of year. If you are keen on planning an outdoor wedding, Crockwell’s beautiful landscaped gardens offer a beautiful and romantic setting with lots of fabulous photo opportunities.
Planning a summer wedding at Crockwell will undoubtedly be a wonderful experience as you have exclusive use of our gardens for entertaining guests. If the weather cooperates, everyone can enjoy reception drinks and canapés underneath our picturesque walnut tree. Because no wedding should be without a dose of fun and entertainment, our well-manicured gardens are the ideal venue for hosting not just outdoor ceremonies, but also games, live musical performances and other activities you may have in store for your guests.
converting the barns
The Orchard Pavilion
We formed two cottages out of the stables and outbuildings with the intention of doing some bed and breakfast and holiday lets. It seemed a real shame to divide up the main barn so we put it back together; insulated and formed a ceiling, keeping all the beams and cross-beams exposed. We put in under-floor heating, and found some wonderful oak floorboards to stay in character. We employed a local blacksmith to make windows from the narrow slits which had been the air vents for the barn (or maybe for shooting arrows through)! He also made the wall lights which are complemented by warm up-lighters and beam lights which highlight the beamed ceiling. We ended up with the ceremony barn pretty much as it is today which is a wonderful place to make your vows.

The Breakfast Room
The Breakfast Room is one of the most recent additions to Crockwell Farm. Featuring a stylish contemporary design, it is the ideal spot to enjoy a big breakfast on the morning before or after the wedding. Located right next to the Saddle Room Bar, the Breakfast Room can be easily accessed via the large rolling door.
Breakfasts have always been a joyful affair here at Crockwell. You and your guests can take your pick from a wide array of fresh fruits, yoghurts, toast and homemade granola. We also offer a cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, free-range sausages, organic mushrooms and tomatoes. Every ingredient is sourced locally to ensure that our trademark wedding breakfasts are always fresh, organic and delicious.
If you and your bridal party would prefer something lighter for your wedding breakfast, we can offer you bagels with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or something similar. Just say the word and we will do our best to accommodate your request. For those who want something more filling on the morning after the wedding, we also offer a “hangover breakfast” at around 9:30am. This is undoubtedly a great time to exchange stories and reminisce about the events of the day before. It also offers you the opportunity to say goodbye to your guests before leaving for your honeymoon.
The Prep Room
Many brides would agree that planning a wedding can be quite stressful. This is why our mission here at Crockwell is to make this grand affair more manageable and less taxing for the bride. Our Bridal Prep Room is certainly equipped with everything you need. With its panoramic roof light and windows, low comfortable chairs for hairstyling and tall stools for the make-up artist, the room is designed to ensure your wedding day gets off to a perfect start.
The Bridal Prep Room also features a kitchenette with a Nespresso machine and a small fridge, ensuring that the bridal party has easy access to tea, coffee and snacks. And with its stylish and eye-catching interior decor, the room can serve as a stunning backdrop for your pre-wedding photography.
